What is CrossFit?

The CrossFit program focuses on broad, general, and inclusive fitness. It uses constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements to achieve optimal results. The program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.

Am I ready for CrossFit?

Everyone is ready for CrossFit.  The CrossFit training methodology is designed to fit any and all fitness levels.  With our classes being coach led, the coach will actively work with each athlete to ensure they are receiving the proper stimulus during every workout.  Below is an example of scaling options for a single workout.

What is the foundations class?

Our foundations course is an essential part of getting to know each member and helping him or her feel prepared and confident to enter into the 60-minute CrossFit group training sessions.  Strong Ox Strength and Conditioning does the foundations course through two private to semi-private 1-hour sessions.

What do you do in the foundations class?

The foundations sessions will give the you nutrition, technique, and CrossFit culture training.  Your safety and health goals are our team’s highest priority and this is one of many steps taken to ensure you have the highest quality training experience.

What do I wear?

Wear something that is comfortable and allows you to move freely. You will be jumping, running, lifting, and sweating, so be sure your clothes work for you. There are tons of CrossFit-specific clothes and shoes out there but you do not need any of that to get started. If you are looking to upgrade your wardrobe, we can point you in the right direction.

Injury?

Injuries are part of everyone’s fitness journey.  Even with injuries CrossFit workouts can be customized and scaled to movements that will not aggravate the injury, and in some cases help your body recover.  Always have your doctor clear you for exercise.
